How can I try to remember not to cry?
Try to remember you were mine?
Outside of the studio, she spends time with her dog, kicks ass in Mario Kart, and survives mostly off of the frozen aisle at Trader Joe’s. Inside the studio (which is often just her living room), she cultivates a sound that transports you to an intimate, dimly-lit room. Smoke is in the air and the piano twinkles softly. The smooth, sultry sound of her voice emits something soft, yet powerful - perhaps nothing short of magical.
Sydney Fay is a rising force in the world of jazz-pop. Her songs combine the traditional, familiar elements of 1940s and ‘50s jazz with the soft-beating tendencies of the finger-picked acoustic guitar. Though her sound is reminiscent of greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Nina Simone, she also takes inspiration from contemporary giants like Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Esperanza Spalding, creating a vibrant soundscape that warmly embraces any listener.
